Alternatives guide
This guide is a plain-language comparison of product formats and quote scopes. It is written for a buyer who started with a brand search and now needs to see what would have to be true before an alternative is acceptable. KeystoneGate Sourcing does not offer that brand’s buildings and does not rank factories on this page.
Compare Alternative OptionsChoose volumetric, panelized, foldable, or a steel-system shell only after transport and site access are known.
Write whether the number is a shell, a delivered unit, an installed set, or a turnkey handover.
Request drawings, loads, and the code path for the exact system, then list every deviation.
Accept an alternative only after your team signs the lines that changed from the original brief.
Standard dimensions help when your rooms fit them. A custom clear span, an unusual floor load, or a property-line fire-resistance rating pushes the quote into project-specific engineering. Keep that engineering visible. Do not treat a catalog width as approval from the authority having jurisdiction.
Format, interior layout, enclosure build-up, and the party who owns installation can all still move. Freeze them in the brief when you want quotations to be comparable. Leave them open only if every supplier labels the assumption.
Check module or frame dimensions, design loads, thermal transmittance, the fire-resistance rating if one is required, and the document that ties those values to the supplier and the site. A substituted girt spacing or a thinner floor is a change, even if the exterior photo looks similar.
The shell may stop at the structure and skin. Turnkey may add foundations, stairs, utilities, and commissioning. Put both offers on one matrix and mark missing lines instead of subtracting a guessed percentage.
You may add an optional USD figure per unit or for the whole order, and a premium, mid-range, budget, or undecided preference. Those notes travel inside the requirement. They do not create a live price and they are not a verified ranking.
Name the format you want quoted, the use, the destination, and the scope label. If a line is undecided, say undecided. The desk will ask factories to answer the sheet you send, including documents for that system and that jurisdiction.
Review inquiry cards if you want the product name filled in for you.
Qualified business buyers
A coordinator can ask factories for quotations after the modular or portable building requirement is written down.
Eligibility applies to qualified business buyers and is confirmed after we review your product, quantity, destination, and sourcing requirements.
